American Red Cross: Wilderness and Remote First Aid
WRFA is the assessment of and treatment given to an injured or ill person in a remote environment where definitive care by a health care provider and/or rapid transport is not readily available.
In this course, participants will learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to first aid emergencies based on their training. This course serves to meet the health and safety needs of those who are interested in the outdoors, live or work in remote areas or are preparing to respond to disaster locations.
Participants could include hikers and backpackers, scout leaders and older scouts, boaters, farm workers, utility workers in remote areas, forest rangers, law enforcement and rescue crews, and disaster response team members.
Course topics include assessment, evacuation considerations, shock and heart attack, chest injuries, head/neck/spinal injuries, wound care, bone and joint injuries, burns, abdominal illnesses, hypothermia, heat-related illnesses, lightning, altitude illnesses, submersion incidents, allergies and anaphylaxis.

Leave No Trace Trainer
This two day course assists student participants in learning more about the seven principles of Leave No Trace, and techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. ÌýTrainer Courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees and other outdoor professionals. ÌýSuccessful graduates of the Trainer Course gain skills to teach Leave No Trace techniques and ethics to their clients, friends and family.
