Innovation in Action was an event hosted by at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥on 18th March. It united researchers and industry partners to shed light on the inception of their collaboration and the direction in which their work is currently headed.The event served as a platform for ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥researchers to gain insight on finding industry partners relevant to their work. Conversely, it aimed at helping industries find research that could directly impact their businesses and give them a competitive edge in their respective markets.
The success stories shared by current researchers at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥and their industry partners were the highlight of this event. One such success story is of our industry partner Robert Moore, Esq. (patent attorney, computer engineer & president of ) and researchers at Multimedia Systems Lab (MLab). His collaboration with Dr Hari Kalva and Dr Borko Furht from ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥has helped develop video coding standards such as , & amongst others. Robert shared how this collaboration with the university was set in motion and spoke about his vision for future standards in video communication technology.
