Calling All Night Owls! Come View the Deep Partial Lunar Eclipse Aug. 27

Head over to the Schmidt College of Science’s Observatory on Thursday, Aug. 27 beginning at 9 p.m. to get the best view of a very deep – almost total (96%) – partial lunar eclipse with a full moon! The entire eclipse will take approximately five hours, so visitors are welcome to stop by between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.Â
Eric Vandernoot, astronomy and physics lab coordinator in the Department of Physics, will also explain how such majestic events take place. Don’t miss what promises to be a stellar evening!  Â
The Observatory is located in the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥Science Building, SE-434, on the Boca Raton campus. This event is free to all members of the public and the Florida Atlantic community. No advance registration is required.Â
