Publication of a New Book on Somaesthetics

New Issue of the Journal of Somaesthetics

Vol. 12 No. 1 (2026): recognizes noise as a somatic phenomenon that extends beyond the auditory, affecting us in most realms of experience. The essays and interviews gathered in the new volume approach noise in an expansive somaesthetic sense.

Former Visiting Scholar Mark Tschaepe Awarded Yale Fellowship

The Center for Body, Mind, and Culture is pleased to congratulate former Visiting Scholar Mark Tschaepe on receiving the Charles J. Cole Fellowship at the Lewis Walpole Library.

The fellowship supports a one-month residency and research at Yale, where Tschaepe will pursue a project exploring the somaesthetics of fashion and embodied self-fashioning. We are delighted to see his continued contributions to somaesthetic research and wish him a productive fellowship.

Call for Applications: 2026–2027 Center for Body, Mind, and Culture, Faculty Fellows Program

The Center for Body, Mind, and Culture invites applications for the 2026–2027 Faculty Fellows Program. The Center will award up to four Faculty Fellowships (to ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥Arts & Letters faculty) to support faculty research and creative activity that engages the interdisciplinary study of the body-mind-culture nexus through the Center’s framework and continuing agenda. Center Fellow Receives New Appointment

The Center is happy to announce that its recent graduating student fellow, T. J. ÌýBonnet accepted a position Professor of Humanities at Florida State College at ÌýJacksonville and will start teaching there in the Fall Semester 2026.Ìý
