For instructions on how to apply through our new applicant portal, please review the applicable tutorial below. Each tutorial provides step-by-step instructions on how to successfully submit an application.
Internal Applicant Tutorial (Current ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥Employees)
This section is for current ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥ employees applying for internal job opportunities.
Accessing Internal Job Postings
1. Log in to Workday at: https://workday.fau.edu
2. Access internal postings by:
- Selecting the Career worklet and choosing Find Internal Jobs – FAU, or
- Searching for Find Internal Jobs – ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥using the Workday search bar.
3. Select a position to review requirements and qualifications.
Applying for a Position
1. Select Apply from the job posting.
2. Complete each section of the application, ensuring all required fields are filled.
3. Application requirements vary by position type:
- AMP and Faculty positions: Resume and cover letter are required.
- SP, OPS, and Student positions: Completion of the Job History section is required.
Updating Job History (if needed)
1. Select Go to your profile within the application.
2. Navigate to Job > Professional Profile in Workday.
3. Add or upload experience as needed.
4. Return to your Workday Inbox to continue the application.
Final Review and Submission
- Verify all information and attachments.
- Review the Special Instructions section for any additional required documents.
- Select Submit to complete your application.
- You may also choose Save for Later if you need to return at a later time.

External Applicant Tutorial (Non‑·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥Employees)
This section is for individuals who are not currently employed by ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥ and are applying for positions through FAU’s public careers site.
Accessing the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥Careers Site
1. Navigate to the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥applicant portal: https://fau.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/FAU
2. Browse available positions by scrolling the page or using the search function.
3. Select a position to view details, qualifications, and Special Instructions to Applicants.
Creating or Accessing an Applicant Account
- New applicants must create an account to apply.
- Returning applicants should sign in using their existing credentials.
- Do not create multiple applicant accounts.
If you cannot remember your password, use the Forgot Password feature.
Completing the Application
1. Select Apply or Apply with LinkedIn, if available.
2. Follow the on‑screen instructions to complete each section of the application.
3. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
4. You may use resume parsing or copy‑and‑paste text, but retype special characters (such as apostrophes or accent marks) to avoid system issues.
Uploading Required Documents
- Review the Special Instructions to Applicants section carefully to determine required attachments.
- Common required documents may include:
- Resume
- Cover letter
- DD‑214 (for Veterans’ Preference, if applicable)
- You can upload documents during the application process and review them before submitting.
Reviewing and Submitting
- Review all information entered before submitting.
- Use the Back button to correct any section.
- Click Submit to complete your application.
- A confirmation message will display once your application is successfully received.

Attaching Documents to an Application
This section applies to both internal and external applicants.
Before You Begin
Always review the Special Instructions to Applicants in the job posting to confirm:
- Which documents are required
- Whether multiple documents must be uploaded separately
Uploading Documents Using Quick Apply
- If you choose Quick Apply, one document (usually your resume) may upload automatically.
- To add additional documents:
- Use the Upload option in the Resume/CV section.
- Repeat until all required documents are attached.
Uploading Documents Without Quick Apply
1. Navigate to the Resume/CV section during the application.
2. Upload documents by:
- Dragging and dropping files, or
- Selecting files manually.
3. Once one document is uploaded, you may upload additional files as needed.
Final Review
- Confirm all required documents are attached.
- Use the Back button to make corrections if needed.
- Submit the application once all materials are complete.

Updating Email Address and Contact Information
Applicants may update their contact details after an application has been submitted.
Updating Your Email Address
1. Log in to your applicant account.
2. Access Account Settings.
3. Enter a new email address and submit the update.
4. Check your email for a verification message and follow the link provided.
5. Log in using your updated email address once verification is complete.
Updating Contact Information
Applicants may update:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
To do so:
1. Log in to your applicant account.
2. Navigate to your profile and select Update Contact Information.
3. Make updates as necessary and save changes.
