Specialized Offering: Crowd Management
DEM partners with a vendor to facilitate a Crowd Management training on the Boca Raton Campus once a year, typically during the summer. This free, campus-wide session equips participants to recognize and report hazards that could endanger life or property in and around facilities and crowd spaces. Attendees learn how to conduct facility self-assessments, understand crowd dynamics, apply management and control techniques, use fire protection and communication equipment, identify different types of emergencies, develop emergency response actions, and safely direct people during evacuations. This training is especially valuable for those responsible for events or large gatherings, ensuring you are prepared to protect the safety of all attendees.
Please note: Crowd Management training cannot be requested individually outside the scheduled campus-wide sessions unless a department is willing to cover the associated vendor costs and meet a minimum participation requirement of 30 people. DEM can provide information on the next available session or discuss options for departments interested in hosting their own training.
