TERMS OF SERVICE
ֱTHRIVE: Wellness and Support Network (herein after referred to as ֱThrive) encompasses joint initiatives with ֱfaculty, students, staff, administrators, and community members to target three key areas for enhanced ֱstudent services and support: 1) Faculty initiatives, 2) Student initiatives, and 3) Community
initiatives.
Thrive Ally Program
As part of ֱThrive community initiatives, local mental health service providers may register as a ֱThrive Ally to offer ֱstudents pro bono mental health services (discounted services may be offered through the ). The Thrive Ally program aims to increase ֱstudent access to affordable quality mental health and wellness services in the community in order to improve their overall health and wellness.
For Licensed Mental Health Providers
By registering as a ֱThrive Ally you agree:
- You are a licensed mental health professional in good standing in Florida.
- You will offer one hour per week of mental health support or treatment at no charge, on an ongoing basis, to each client you accept through our program.
- You will serve as a ֱThrive Allyfor a minimum commitment of 6 months of service.
- You have sufficient malpractice insurance coverage in place (with limits no less than $1million per occurrence/ $3million aggregate) at all times during your participation in the program.
- You will notify ֱThrive if you are ever subject to sanction, disciplinary action or any other change in professional status or licensure.
- Participating in the ֱThrive Program is not a sponsorship.
- There is no fee for participating in ֱThrive beyond the cost of your services.
- You will provide mental health services only on topics or specialties in which you are qualified to practice.
- You will conduct your practice using the highest ethical standards and respect, and honor the dignity and individuality of those who seek your assistance.
- You will take all precautions to ensure your relationship with your client(s) is safe, professional and successful.
- Any mental health counseling provided by you shall be directly and exclusively between you and the student. ֱwill have no involvement in that relationship and will not reimburse you for any fees incurred.
- You understand that participation in the program does not create a referral relationship. You will be identified along with other providers as a community resource for students. ֱdoes not guarantee that any students will contact you for counseling sessions.
- You are solely responsible for selecting and taking on clients and designing the appropriate treatment regimen, and you assume all risks associated therewith. Your professional obligation is between you and your client. ֱwill not interfere with your professional judgment or treatment recommendations.
- You understand that ֱThrive disclaims all warranties and liabilities regarding its students and does not pre-screen its students for their participation in the program.
- ֱstudents must show their owl card to receive services through the program.
- Mental health providers will be listed on the ֱThrive web site at fau.edu/thrive, along with other providers.
- You will contact us to update your profile status if your schedule is full and you are not currently accepting new ֱThrive Ally clients.
- You will contact us to update your profile status once a year to ensure it remains current.
- You will provide us with your updated contact and license information when necessary and respond to all inquiries regarding your services.
- Reproduction or use of FAU’s name or logo is strictly prohibited.
- ֱThrive reserves the right to decline any health professional and terminate your participation in the program with or without cause at any time.
- ֱwill provide you with an ֱThrive Ally decal to post in your business or practice to demonstrate your participation in the program and support.
For ֱStudents
The website content of the Thrive Ally Program and the Owl Perks Card Program is for informational purposes only and is meant to provide community resources available to ֱstudents to help you combat mental illness and promote health and wellness. Providers have volunteered for these programs and ֱdoes not recommend or endorse any of the providers listed, nor has ֱscreened or performed background checks on any of the providers. ֱcannot guarantee, and is not responsible for, your satisfaction with services provided, and ֱwill not reimburse you for costs or fees you incur from these providers. Check on, and use your own judgment about, the legitimacy, licensure, professionalism, insurance coverage (if any) or costs and efficacy of the providers listed. Show your owl card to the provider and agree upon the costs of treatment plans with the center or provider up front and in advance of any services received. We hope these programs are useful to you.
